Guide to Creating your Own Window 7 Theme.

How cool would it be to not only have your own theme but also be able to share it to other people, Very cool right? I personally can’t remember the last time i downloaded a theme. As I always create mine.

I prefer creating themes of popular movies, what i do is take clear and precise screenshots of parts I like in any movie I’m watching and turn them into themes. You too can learn how to create a theme all you need do is follow the below instructions.

Before you create your theme, be sure to find out the recommended resolution for your computer screen as it will come in handy. To check for it just left click on your desktop and select the option screen resolution.

After finding out your screen resolution resize all the pictures you intend to use in your new theme to fit your screen resolution. I.e. if your screen resolution is 1366 x 768, resize all your pictures to fit your screen by changing them to 1366 x 768. To do this right click on the image and select the edit option you would be redirected to PAINT now go to resize > pixels and edit it to fit your screen resolution. (Remember to unselect aspect ratio) after resizing all of the pictures create a new folder for them.

Note: resizing your picture is not compulsory.

After you have done this you can now follow the steps below

• Step 1.  Go to personalization and apply any theme in my theme section (the one you like less), now go down to desktop background’ mark and delete all the pictures in the theme, after doing this, minimize the window (desktop background).

• Step 2.  Go to the folder you added the pictures you plan on using for your theme, and copy all of them.

• Step 3.  Now restore the window (desktop background) you minimized in step 1 and paste the pictures. Now select all the pictures in the box by marking all.

• Step 4.   Now select the way you want the pictures to be positioned (skip this if you have already resized your images to fit your laptop screen), next set the duration of the slideshow, you can have photos change every few seconds, minute, 30 minute etc. When you are done with this, click on save changes to apply your settings. Now change the window colour, screensaver and sounds (necessary only when you want to change the way windows sounds when you close a program, open a program etc) to do this just click on sounds and choose from the list or you can download your own sounds and add it (must be in .wav format). Now apply your settings.

• Step 5.  To save the newly created theme, left click on the theme and click on save theme for sharing

Congrats you now have your own theme.

NOTE: To make your theme more attractive and pleasant to the eyes make sure the pictures you use are of high quality.
