How computer maintenance can help increase your productivity
A good practice of computer maintenance involves maintaining not just the exterior parts of
the computer, but also the interior parts through the removal of dust and debris from the
cooling fan, screen, keyboard, and other hardware components, fragmenting your
hard disk etc on a regular basis.
In order for a computer to be healthy and in good working order, it is
advised that it be cleaned after certain period of time (weekly/monthly). Doing this
can be a little hectic but the end result is ecstatic, as a healthy computer
can help increase productivity in the following ways
2. It improves your computer
performance. Left
unmonitored, your data, your network, files, settings, hardware etc may develop
a fault in the long run which will automatically bring your computer to a
gradual decline, and this in turn would affect your productivity negatively.
But when you
make updating and scanning your system for virus a regular routine, and also
ensuring that your computer is monitored and regularly maintained etc, your computer’s
performance would be boosted, security would be strengthened and productivity would be
increased.
3. It saves you
money. Maintaining a
computer involves three things: keeping it physically clean, protecting it from
malwares & viruses, and organizing your files, if you do these things on a
regular basis i assure you, you’ll get the best out
of your computer. But if you fail to do them, you’ll end up needing to replace
your computer because let’s face it; it would be as messed up as a waste bin (Piled
up dusts (which causes overheating etc), virus and malwares infestation (freezing
and hanging), disorganized files etc).
Also
when you keep your computer well maintained the money you would have spent on
repairs or to get yourself a new computer (when your old one becomes unusable) would be used for other productive things.
4. It makes you work Faster. Failing to maintain your computer
would allow dust to accumulate in vital parts in your computer, also it would
make your pc a home for malwares, viruses, etc and all this makes a system slow
and there is no doubt that a slow system impedes productivity. But when you Endeavour
to maintain your computer regularly (i.e updating your software, keeping your
computer hardware in perfect condition, fragmenting your hard drive, scanning
for virus regularly etc), your computer would be free from viruses, hanging
and unnecessarily freezing etc and this would make your system run faster and ultimately
make you work faster and be more productive.
