How to take screenshots of your computer

Well I doubt if anyone is new to the art of taking screenshots, we do it with our phones, tabs etc. But what most people don’t know is using a PC, one can screen shot a website or save basically anything else that pops up on the screen. So, want to learn how to take screenshots of your computer, continue reading.

To screenshot everything on your screen

To do this press the ‘prt sc’ key on your laptop. Although you have taken the screenshot it’s not saved on your system (it’s in the clipboard). To save it in your system launch the application ‘PAINT’ (it can be found in Windows > All programs > Accessories) now press and hold down ctrl + v to paste the screenshoted image in paint.. now you can save the image in your system.

Another application that can be used to take a screenshot of your pc is the snipping tool (to launch it, just search for snipping) launch it and snip the part of the screen you want to save.

I prefer using this one (snip) to the former. it’s easy to use and there is an option to save the already snipped picture automatically.

To take the screenshot of a window

Click the window that you want to take the screenshot of, Hold down alt and press prt sc. when you do this, an image of the window will be copied to the clipboard (invisible) to make it visible you will have to lauch PAINT and paste it in it using ctrl + v

NOTE:  if you have Picasa on your system you wont need to follow the above instructions, all you need do before taking a screenshot is to first of all launch your picasa, Minimize it and then take your screenshot, it will automatically save in libraries > pictures > picasa > screen captures.
